Stronger than you Seem

Stronger than you Seem

The following post is an excerpt from a 30 day motivational journal I have been working on for awhile, and will release next month. It is 30 days of motivation to help you enjoy each day, love yourself more, improve your health and change your mindset. I will be giving it away free on my website, so please sign up for my newsletter, so you won’t miss getting it. Over the next few weeks, I will share a few more days from my journal. Below is Day 25. Hope you enjoy.

“Promise me you’ll always remember that you’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.” –Christopher Robin said to Winnie the Pooh

Strength is one of the motivators that keeps me going every day. I have always wanted to be strong. There were a few years where I got distracted by body image and how I felt I should look. I was never fully happy with myself during this time. I have realized over the years, and training many women, that rarely are they happy in their own skin. Why can’t we love ourselves. Why is it so difficult to like our bodies. Don’t fall into society’s trap. Stop the hustle for worthiness. Just love yourself and quit trying to get everyone else to like you.

This is where mindset is so very important. Stop focusing on the numbers. Quit looking at your size, weight, measurements, etc. Start focusing on how you feel after you exercise. Start focusing on how strong you are and how strong you feel. It takes a brave woman to love herself and feel comfortable in her own skin. It really does. You have to change your focus, your attitude, and your mindset. Do this for yourself and give this gift to your children.

It took me awhile, but I have learned I am happiest when I love myself, regardless of what is going on around me. Turn off the noise of others around you. You have to stop comparing and stop imagining what others think of you. It doesn’t matter. There will always be negativity and gossip around you. Choose your company wisely. Choose people that make you feel good. If they are constantly talking about others, you feel like they are probably talking about you too. You have to not care what others think. Let me say that again, in order to truly love yourself and be happy, you have to not care what others think. It can be an exhausting struggle, but over time, you become better at loving yourself, not comparing yourself, and truly being happy for others.

Our health is not only a physical thing…our mind needs to be healthy as well to fully feel good and embrace our health. Skinny is not healthy. When I was at my skinniest, I was in the worst health of my life. Health is strong muscles, a strong heart and a strong mind to start. Health is feeling good, finding joy and loving others and yourself. Feeling good and having a strong body and mind comes from truly embracing a life of healthy practices, which includes sleep, exercise, nutrition, kindness, encouragement, positive thoughts, helping others, and bravely choosing to love yourself in the midst of this challenging world we are in. So believe that you are stronger than you seem, braver than you believe and smarter than you think. Believe, my friend….in yourself, because the body achieves what the mind believes.
