This is a tip that I posted a week or so ago, but I just can’t say it enough. Get off the couch and move. Just move everyday. If you can’t get to the gym, go for a walk. If you only have 15 minutes, walk for 15 minutes. March in your living room. Do some dips. You don’t have to skip your entire workout if something comes up. Do part of it. Pick a few exercises. Just become an active person!
Studies show that people that just become more active consistently will have more success in the long run. If you can establish daily healthy habits, you are more likely to have overall success. Do your best in the beginning to practice those healthy habits every day. The longer you go with healthy daily routines, the easier it will be for these habits to stay in your life for the long term.
Quick fixes, fast weight loss, and programs that can not last for our lifetime will eventually fail. Healthy choices and fitness routines should be able to fit into your everyday life for good. Stop the all or nothing mentality. Too many people will only do a fad program or do nothing. Get off the roller coaster. Try to make small changes each day. You will be surprised that these small changes will become habits and can last a lifetime.
For today, choose to become more active. This means go for a family bike ride. Take a walk after dinner. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Do planks with the family tonight. Shoot a few hoops with your kids. If it can’t be a full workout, just move!
Enjoy today,
Kelley
