Lighten Up

Lighten Up

This month I joined a writing challenge to write about one topic during the 31 days of October. I am excited to accept the challenge and I chose to write about Lessons Learned from My Little Ones. This should be fun, encouraging and eye-opening for me and hopefully for you as well. I would love input or ideas from you. I know we all learn from these little people in our lives and usually they are some pretty good lessons.

For starters, my little monkees are teaching me to not take myself so seriously. Every day I have to be reminded to lighten up. Oh yes, I have to let go of responsibilities, manners, and all of those important things sometimes and just lighten up. Pick your battles as they say. This can be really hard for me on some days. Lately, it has been harder. When I have anything else consuming my mind and energy, I seem to have a hard time letting things go. I try really hard to teach my kids to move past things and let them go, and they are pretty good at it, but I just have a hard time reminding myself every day to lighten up and Let it Go, as the famous song says. I do love when I can lighten up and really take in my kids silly sides. It always takes life and our time together to such a better place.

sillinessSo, yes, responsibilities, manners, and good choices are oh so important, but there are times when I need to just lighten up. Amazingly, those important things seem to fall in place even more when I just chill out. True. So my reminder for today…

Can we just lighten up a teensy little bit? Why yes, yes we can.

Thanks for the pass. πŸ™‚
