#236 How to Let Go of What You Can’t Control

In this episode of Healthy Vibes, we’re talking about what it really means to release the grip.

Letting go doesn’t mean you stop caring. It doesn’t mean you give up, ignore the problem, or stop taking responsibility. It means learning to recognize the difference between what is yours to do and what is not yours to control.

We’ll talk about why uncertainty makes us want to hold on tighter, how overthinking can disguise itself as responsibility, and what it looks like to trust God with the outcome after you’ve done your part.

In this episode:

  • Why we keep picking things back up after we’ve said we’ve let them go
  • How control can create a false sense of safety
  • The difference between caring about something and carrying it
  • How to recognize what is actually yours to do
  • Why uncertainty is often where trust becomes real
  • A simple four-step process to help you release what you can’t control

The Release the Grip Process:

  1. Name it. What are you carrying?
  2. Do your part. What is actually yours to do?
  3. Release the outcome. What belongs to someone else, the circumstances, or God?
  4. Redirect. Where does your attention need to go now?

Scripture for this week:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Letting go is not always a one-time decision. Sometimes we have to release the same thing again and again.

Sunday Courage Challenge: Your One Healthy Choice this week

Identify one thing you are gripping too tightly this week.

Ask yourself: What part of this is actually mine to do?
