Tip #15…Sleep!

Tip #15…Sleep!

I know it is difficult to get enough sleep for many of us, but sleep is extremely important for how we feel and how our body works. I struggle with this every day. I like to stay up late to spend time with my hubby or just to enjoy the quiet. Having the early morning hours to myself helps me to rest my soul through reading or writing. My best days are the ones that I have my time in the morning to myself and can fill up on encouraging stuff without any distractions. After a few days of my late nights and early mornings, I become tired, irritated and short-fused, thus negating all of the rest for my soul. Every few days I need to get to bed early or possibly sleep in a bit. One good night of sleep changes my entire self in a very good way. Some scientists believe getting enough rest helps keep weight off and keep your metabolism in check. This article has some good information on the benefits of sleep and how it can affect your metabolism.

let her sleepAlso remember we all need some rest or quiet time for our sanity. Take time for yourself and do what makes you feel good and recharge your battery. It is ok to just be. We do not need to always be going. God wants us to rest as well. Find a few minutes today in the classroom of silence and take it all in and just breathe. You will thank yourself later.
