To start this week off, this is the third in a four part series to help us go after our goals. Hopefully you have listened to the message from last week, and have worked on becoming HONEST with yourself about what you want, and truly AWARE of what is holding you back. If you haven’t already, make a list of what you need to do to start moving toward your goals. This week we are going to BE INTENTIONAL about all that we do, big and small, especially small. You should already be thinking about what you will be doing TODAY to move forward toward your goal.
So far…
- Be come Honest as to what you want and Aware of what is holding you back.
- Be Intentional.
- Take Action.
It is time to take ACTION. Intentions are important and a part of the process, but in the end they are nothing without ACTION.
So what are you going to do today. What is on your list. How can you move forward?
Our goal is to do something EVERY single day to move forward toward our goal. Even on crazy days, at least one thing to move closer.
I have learned that even on the craziest of days, and busiest of seasons, as long as I make time to do one task that moves me closer to my goals, I stay motivated and encouraged to keep going. There will always be distractions. The hardest part is to not completely lose focus for several days, and your goal ends up on the back burner. Then, a few more days go by, and your goal is been put back up on the shelf for a more “convenient” time. I have done this more times than I can count. I am going to let you in on a secret…..
THERE WILL NOT BE A MORE CONVENIENT TIME…..EVER!! There will always be something else. There will always be more important distractions that need you.
My point is there will be days when you may feel like you are making great progress, and days where you can barely even think about moving closer to your goals. On those days, still do something.
Some ideas that don’t take a lot of time for crazy days, even though all of our goals are different….
- Pray extra about having the strength, discipline, patience, inspiration and dedication to keep working toward your personal goals. It is ok to pray daily about your personal wants and goals as well. Sometimes we are so good at being thankful and praying for others and those in need, and forget that it is ok to pray for our heart’s desires.
- Listen to an encouraging podcast or book, while you are driving, cooking or doing another routine task.
- Tell someone about what you are working toward.
- Re-organize your thoughts and task list for your goals.
- Keep a journal or notebook with you always, so no matter where you are, you can brainstorm as to what else you can do to reach your goal.
- Wake up 30 minutes earlier for some extra time.
- Find a new inspirational quote and print it or write it so you can see it.
Be sure to keep your dreams and goals in your mind and life every day. Even when you are crazy, refocus at the start or end of the day, and plan and BE Intentional with your time and energy. If you really want it, you will have to say NO to some things, so you can keep saying YES to YOUR goals and dreams.
For this week, take ACTION every single day.
