My Favorite Fitness Tools to Challenge YOU and Inspirational Books to Keep You Growing.
Tools to Use At Home

Foam Roller – Love love love the foam roller. This will help you massage your muscles, stretch and it is awesome to add more challenge to certain exercises.

Tubing – You can do a lot with tubing at home, but I really like it to do some back exercises, especially rows, and fun with a buddy as well.

Gliding Discs – These add variety, fun and intensity to home workouts, especially for lunges, planks and push-ups. Pay attention if you buy some, there are sets for carpet and wood floors.

Dumbbells – You have to have a few dumbbells at home. Great starter set could be 3’s, 5’s and 7’s.

Stability Ball – This can add that balance and stability component to a workout and be used as your office chair as well.

6 lb Medicine Ball – Bring some life to buddy training! 6 lb. is good to start with.
Tools For The Kids And Family

Tubing – Kids can use tubing. They just need to be taught to be safe with it, so it won’t snap back and hurt somebody.

Resistance Bands – These are affordable and safe to add resistance for kids at home. I really like these for arm, back and leg exercises.

Relay Sticks – Have a race in the neighborhood. Fitness can be fun.

3 Legged Race – This race is sure to create a great time for all.

Burlap Sacs – Old school field days were awesome. Have a sac race in your backyard with your buddies and have some fun!

Hula Hoops – Great fun and awesome core work.

Cones – These can be used for obstacle courses, drills, goals and more.

Speed & Agility Ladder – Great to add to an obstacle course or for conditioning drills.

Football Flags – Backyard flag football.

Hurdles – Great for sport conditioning.

Kickball – A neighborhood game of kickball!

Agility Rings – Great for obstacle courses and conditioning drills.

The 5 Love Languages – Wonderful read to help your relationship.

The 5 Love Languages of Children – Eye opening for all parents. I loved this book.

The 5 Love Languages of Teenagers – Best read yet. A must for parents of teenagers.

Daring Greatly – Life-changing book. Brene’ Brown writes about vulnerability and the real deal of life and relationships. Good read when you are ready to deepen and strengthen important relationships in your life, and begin to truly love who you are. I have read this twice and plan to read it again one day.

The Gifts of Imperfection – Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You are. Another good read by Brene’ Brown. We all need this.

Big Magic – Creative Living Beyond Fear, by Liz Gilbert.

How to be Here – A Guide to Creating a Life Worth Living. Loved every bit of this one, by Rob Bell

The Best Yes – Making wise decisions in the midst of endless demands, by Lysa Terkeurst

Boundaries – by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend

Love Does – Discover a Secretly Incredible Life in an Ordinary World, by Bob Goff.

Hungry for Change – This is a great resource to learn more about all natural, real food with NO preservatives.
